Julia Coulombe and Matthew Vernon met over the fuzzy belly of an Australian Shepherd named Bug. Julia had two dirty dogs and Matthew came to groom them. Having been a mobile groomer for over five years at that point, Matt was expecting nothing out of the ordinary. But there on Julia’s driveway, looking across Bug’s muddy belly as he blissfully accepted bellyrubs, Matthew met his future wife and buisness partner. For three years Matt and Julia, who quickly picked up the trade, groomed dogs, got engaged and then married. All the while dreaming of creating a mobile grooming company of their own.
Mobile grooming brought Matthew and Julia together. Their love for dogs gave them the determination it took to start Muddy Buddies. Now, as husband and wife, they are thrilled to bring a new level of compassion to dog grooming. They want only the best for their own dogs, and know you feel the same way. Your dog deserves it.
Meet the Team
When Matt was twelve years old he used all of the birthday money he’d been saving to buy a giant golden retriever who he named Kodie. His love for dogs brought him to mobile grooming. Matt has been grooming dogs in a mobile environment for nearly a decade. His gentle nature makes him a favorite of dogs everywhere. Aside from grooming, Matt enjoys fast cars, traveling, and cuddling with their three pups.
Despite going to school for writing, nobody was surprised when Julia started her career in mobile grooming. She is a dog lover to the core. She takes pride knowing that she is giving her four legged clients the best grooming experience possible. Grooming also allows her to express her creative side. When she’s not grooming she enjoys traveling, reading and hiking with their dogs.
Daniel Garrido‘s passion for dogs led him to grooming. He thought it would be amazing to be able to work closely with dogs every day- and went to grooming school to make it happen. He wanted to bring dogs the best grooming experience possible so he started a mobile grooming company. After the birth of his son Joel, his priorities changed, and he made the difficult decision to close his business. That’s when he joined the Muddy Buddies family- and we’re so glad he did!
Aside from his mini me Joel, Dan is the proud parent to three furbabies- Oliver, Marcy and Pippie. When he isn’t working, Dan is spending time with Joel, kickboxing, designing his next tattoo or trying to get some rest!
Lashee previously worked at a big box grooming salon. She wanted to get away from the corporate world of grooming and loved the one-on-one aspect of mobile grooming. Dogs have always been her passion. After graduating from City College of New York with degrees in Psychology and Finance, she decided to do what makes her truly happy, and continued with her grooming career. We are so glad she did!
Lashee and her husband Robert have two dogs- a Yorkie, Quincy and a Chihuahua, Nino. They also have an adorable tuxedo cat named Ziggy.
When she isnt’ grooming Lashee enjoys working out, watching movies (preferably with lots of popcorn:) and baking.
Cameron Chase’s artistic talent and deep love of dogs makes him a uniquely qualified groomer- he is gentle and calming with the dogs and has an artist’s eye for style.
While attending the University of Hartford Art School, Cameron spent his summers at a nearby dog grooming academy and bathing for a busy kennel. After graduating with a BFA in illustration, he connected with Muddy Buddies and apprenticed another 4 months with owners Julia and Matt. He quickly became one of our most requested groomers!
When he isn’t grooming, Cameron is usually painting, spending time with his family (he has 10 nieces and nephews, aww!) or listening to Pearl Jam. He has two adorable rescues-- Balto and Bindi. We are so happy to have him as the newest member of the Muddy Buddies Mobile Dog Grooming team!
Willa joined the team as a much needed part time scheduler. If you call, text or e mail you will speak to either Willa or Julia. Her love and knowledge of dogs is evident the minute you speak with her! She has plenty of experience with her own brood-Marcy the doxi and Pippie and Oliver- both rescue mixes.
When Willa isn’t working (and often when she is!) she has her hands full with her adorable son Joel. Together they enjoy visiting the zoo, eating ice cream and playing with "woof woofs".
